What's NewWhat's New Pages. For each release, a page lists new features, generally with a few words of explanation, and offers a link from each item to that topic in a web-based slide show. The slide show can also be run consecutively from the begtinning. Generally a PDF version of the slide show is also available. Genesys and SystemVue pages do not have the slide show but are supported by a version comparison list. Most of the EEsof what's new pages also exist in foreign-language versions. This will continue. News and EventsNews and Events Pages. These pages offer constantly-updated lists of press releases (and other news) and of events such as seminars, webcasts, and trade shows. Many seminars and webcasts are archived after the events, using the same descriptions. Localization (including local content) for Japan and Taiwan occurs from time to time. Shared English content is brought into localized pages using server-side includes. Videos and DemosVideo and Demo Launch Pages, Frame Pages, and Follow-Ons. Flash, Windows Media Player, and Microsoft Producer files are launched into separate windows for the video content. Frame Pages contain the content as it is running. Follow-on pages appear when sign-ups or contest entries are encouraged. These usually have one or more separate windows, themselves, to show prizes and contest rules. Thank-you pages appear after the form has been fkilled out and submitted. These show that the form has been sent and encourage further exploration. E-mail is also generated sending the information to us for action and to the visitor for confirmation. Some of these pages (and content) also exist in foreign-language versions.
Fill-In FormsFill-In Forms are used for customer feedback, release by release; as landing pages for promotions, inviting requests for follow-up; as follow-ons to videos and other content; to sign up for courses; to request contact from our sales force; and for many other purposes. E-mail is also generated sending the information to us for action and to the visitor for confirmation. These forms are sometimes localized.
Design FlowsDesign Flow Pages are tightly-interlinked clusters of pages (with shared navigation amongst themselves) intended for possible purchasers in various market segments. Old and new designs exist due to some uncertainty aas to the value of a "design flow" approach to telling the story of Agilent EEsof EDA products.
ApplicationsApplications Pages offer links to design help intended for our installed base. The content is sorted by application / market segment / design flow. There is index page and separate pages with links. These are among our most heavily trafficked pages.
PartnersPartners Pages consist of a main/index page with links to short write-ups of industry partners, called Resource Profiles because of the diversity of the actual relationships. There is also a list of vendor libraries with links to their web sites. This content is felt to be an important part of cour competituve advantage.
Customer Succes StoriesCustomer Success Stories resemble partners pages in consisting of a main/index page with links to the various success stories. Three Genesys versions consist of talking-head customer videos.
Referral / Index PagesReferral / Index Pages correspond roughly with the topics in the right-hand navigation. They offer lists of links to content of a certain type such as technical support, customer education, product documentation, online demos and tutorials, publications and application notes, partners, press releases, newsletters, and RSS feeds. Only a few of these pages are localized. But there is an extensive Japanese support area, maintained by them but integrated by us on our publicly-facing server.
Knowledge CenterKnowledge Center is available only with a login, and is intended as a benefit to customers who have paid for technical support. It is the main source of technical support user self-help. It offers problem reports and workarounds, user forums, product documentation, and software downloads. It is maintained separately from the Agilent EEsof EDA web site. Product DocumentationProduct Documentation is currently available in HTML form within the products and through Knowledge Center. Older manuals and the current versions of the Release Notes, Installation, and Getting Started manuals are publically available on the web. Although links must be maintained, Agilent EEsof user documentation is maintained separately from the Agilent EEsof EDA web site.
