Mentor Teams with Agilent to Streamline RF PCB Design

Working together, Mentor and Agilent have announced a new solution that integrates ADS with Board Station XE and Expedition Enterprise. This will significantly improve productivity of designers as it allows dynamic transfer of RF circuits into Mentor board design products and vice versa. No more tedious and error-prone design data translation, but seamless flow integration between the two programs.

Wireless System Designers: New ADC Behavioral Models for ADS

With Analog Devices new analog-to-digital converter models, ADS users can now identify and test off-the-shelf converters for their designs during the early stages of development, eliminating costly re-specification and re-design steps. This capability enables you to create accurate communication standard-compliant simulations of a candidate receiver front-end with various ADS components allowing the optimum ADC to be selected.

New Technology to Develop Device-Simulation Models Earlier

In its newest release, IC-CAP 2008 contains an industry first tool: Target Modeling Package, which enables the extraction of early CMOS models from a reduced set of Process Control Monitor data before wafers from a new process are produced. Customers tell us that extracting simulation models before a process matures can save them several months in a typical design cycle.

Signal Integrity Paper Wins Top Award at DesignCon

Agilent and Tyco co-authored a paper The Need for Impulse Response Models and an Accurate Method for Impulse Generation from Band-Limited S-Parameters. It was one of only ten papers from among the eighty-eight presented at DesignCon that were honored with the IEC DesignCon Paper Award.

You can learn more about the technique presented in this paper by attending a live webacst: Portable Impulse Response Models for Signal Integrity Applications on May 15, 2008.  Webcast Registration.

Mystery Solved: What has been added to ADS 2008?

In the last 18 months there have been 5 releases of ADS, each delivering a vast number of new features. How can you even keep track of it all? With two new web pages that chart all of the ADS 2008, ADS2006A and ADS2006 Updates 1, 2 and 3 content as well as when they were released:

And remember, ADS 2008 contains all the features shipped with ADS 2006 (including updates).
